The training course will be conducted virtually Monday, March 6th, from 10 am to 12 pm. Olivia Womack from AEDC's Business Development team will be giving the overview.

OPPORTUNITY TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR LEGISLATORS TODAY!
Join the Fayetteville Chamber and HAMMRC in the NWA Fab Lab Innovation Center for our "Face to Face with Your Legislators” event. State Legislators representing Fayetteville and NWA will gather to answer your questions about proposed bills and give a brief review of the current legislative issues. Previously, these events were known as the "Legislative Forums."
Chamber Fayetteville will be hosting this event every Friday from 4 pm - 5 pm while the Legislature is in session.
"Face to Face with Your Legislator" is your opportunity to meet, speak with, voice your opinion, and pose your questions to elected officials in the Arkansas Senate and Arkansas House of Representatives. This is an excellent opportunity to get to know lawmakers.
"Face to Face with Your Legislators" will run through the end of the Legislative Session. The session is scheduled to last for 12-13 weeks. Any variation in that schedule will be announced here in the Chamber Newsletter and on Chamber Social Media.
The NWA Fab Lab Innovation Center is located on the first floor of the 21 W. Mountain Building. If you are coming from the square, you will need to take the stairs or elevator down to the first level to get to suite#123. There is signage on the Fab Lab doors and a suite number clearly marked.

If you have lost or missed back issues of our newsletter, they can be accessed from a new page on the website called "News." Leaders of member cities and our investors should feel free to forward this newsletter or the HAMMRC website to potential stakeholders.

LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES AND VALUE FOR MEMBERS
The Community Development Pipeline
Our HAMMRC Leadership Team wants our stakeholders to be aware of a new program called "The Community Development Pipeline" at the University of Central Arkansas Center for Economic Development. Operating under a three-year grant from the Walton Family Foundation, the Pipeline program's purpose is to train community leaders on "foundational community and economic development principles, and positively impact and uplift the economies and quality of life of communities whose leaders participate in the program."
Our communities in Washington County are eligible to compete for 25 seats in the program.

Energizing Economic Development
Thanks to our HAMMRC Investor AEP/SWEPCO, we have access to valuable economic development training for our community leaders. AEP/SWEPCO’s new online course, “Energizing Economic Development,” can be a valuable tool for small communities like those in our corridor; most rely on city officials or volunteers to lead their ED efforts. This high-quality, free course will fit everyone’s budget. After completing the course, which takes between 3 and 4 hours, Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce/HAMMRC staff members Wayne Mays and Hank Hoggard agree that it contains time-tested, proven steps to success. "From the 'do’s and don’ts of marketing' to a 'Business Retention and Expansion Program,' this course is on-target and provides a checklist and roadmap for new or experienced ED leaders,” Mays said.

HAMMRC appreciates this timely contribution to our success. Contact Mays for more information or questions.
